TrendsBuzz: Hottest Trends on the Web in One Place, in Real Time

Very nice addition to Google Trends, Addictomatic and other “trend” tools. Only have 30 seconds to find out the recent buzz on your brand, company name or any keyword. I still recommend Addictomatic though… but this is nice if you have more than 30 seconds.

TrendsBuzz: Hottest Trends on the Web in One Place, in Real Time
TrendsBuzz is a website that aggregates the hottest trends among popular search engines, news sites and social networking sites. What makes it different from other trend sites? You get the results in real time.
The trends pages such as Google Trends are very valuable to some bloggers. If you want to get a piece of hot search engine action, they are the pages you should visit. A blog could get a large amount of traffic by publishing a topic found on a trends site/page depending on how well it fares on search engine page ranking or how well the blogger optimizes his/her topic for search.
Whether you are a blogger looking for a big story to write about or someone who just wants to know the hottest topic on the web through search, you should check out TrendsBuzz. You won’t have to visit different trends sites to know the latest buzz on the web. You’ll also discover other sites’ most search words through the service.Read more at www.orangeinks.com

ESPN “The Tres” coming April 4th 2010 #espn3

I longed for ESPN360 access and Comcast finally allowed it last summer. The ability to watch live games on my computer like many do for March Madness has been great especially during college basketball season when there are only so many channels on TV that sometimes the game you want most isn't on. Expect to start hearing in-game plugs for ESPN 3 in the near futu... read more

Rebranding: ESPN360 Becomes ESPN3 In April
The online live sports hub, ESPN360.com, will be rebranded ESPN3.com in April.
ESPN3 (”The Tres”?) will be available in 50 million homes, free to subscribers of broadband providers that have agreed to pay ESPN a TV-style fee to offer it.
ESPN said the April 4 debut of ESPN3 will bring some new features to the site, presumably on the technical side.
Users currently can switch between multiple games at once. There is a DVR-like ability to rewind, and some events are archived for replay. Read more at www.mediapost.com

Google Buzz Launches 150+ Million User Social Network

Google just launched Google Buzz and it’s going to be tied into its existing Gmail user base–all 150+ million of them!
Genius!
It’s built right into Gmail, so you don’t have to peck out an entirely new set of friends from scratch — it just works. If you think about it, there’s always been a big social network underlying Gmail. Buzz brings this network to the surface by automatically setting you up to follow the people you email and chat with the most. We focused on building an easy-to-use sharing experience that richly integrates photos, videos and links, and makes it easy to share publicly or privately
Of course, like any new Google product, you’re going to have to wait for Buzz to rollout to your Gmail account. Fortunately, unlike the Google Wave invite fiasco, you should see Buzz automatically appear in your Gmail account over the next few days.Read more at www.marketingpilgrim.com

So you heard #sb44 beat MASH for new record but did you know Nashville finished as Top 5 TV market (beating Indy)

(Chart): I realize Nielson TV Ratings can be slightly unscientific and rough estimates but it is interesting to note that Nashville finished with a higher Nielson Rating than Indianapolis (a team playing in the Super Bowl).

Motorola Devour: The phone I cant wait to trade in my blackberry for (supports flash) #vzw

I have been waiting for the Android phones to begin falling from the sky this year and this one seems like a winner. Here’s to hoping they learned from the Droids stubborn QWERTY keyboard!

Motorola Devour has Flash support, makes Pixi look like an underachiever

Motorola’s official spec sheet for the Devour reveals that there’ll be a Flash Lite runtime on board — presumably version 3.1, which offers support for a variety of video codecs and Flash 9 content — and more importantly, it’ll work in the browser. That’s pretty cool — it gives the Devour one small leg up on its Droid big brother and matches capabilities that HTC has rolled out in the past on the Hero, but what’s more interesting is that the Devour allegedly uses the same next-gen low-cost smartphone processor from Qualcomm, the MSM7627, as the Pixi.

Viral Friday: Whale Of A Tale

1. Bridgestone: Whale Of A Tale

Three friends. One Journey. Nothing unusual. Or is it? Brigdestone Tires is one of the official sponsors of this year’s Superbowl. In the run up for the big event on Sunday, Bridgestone released two trailer videos one of which is “Whale of a Tale”. The video was uploaded to YouTube a week ago and got over 470,000 views since. Both videos can be found in the official Bridgestone YouTube channel and hint at a spectacular happening on February 7, 2010. We’ll just have to wait and see. And if you can’t wait till Sunday, at the brand’s Facebook page you can watch some exclusive behind the scenes materials.

This week’s Viral Friday #1 position goes to Bridgestone: Whale Of A Tale. Three friends. One Journey. Nothing unusual. Or is it? See this Bridgestone Superbowl ad trailer and find out.

Bridgestone Super Bowl 2010 Ads Teaser Reach close to 500,000 Views Each

Bridgestone released teasers for the two Super Bowl 2010 commercials on Youtube about a week ago. The Whale of a Tale and the Your Tires or Your Life Bridgstone teaser videos already have reached almost 500,000 views.
From what I have seen, other Super Bowl 2010 commercials and ad teasers that are published on Youtube have by far not as many views.
Bridgestone built up a reputation for cool and funny Super Bowl ads over the last years, but this view counts are impressive. Most people will hit the internet on Super Bowl Sunday to watch the Super Bowl 2010 ads again they just saw during the big game.
It will be interesting to see if the Bridgestone Super Bowl 2010 ads will be landing on top also of the Super Bowl charts this year. Their ad teasers are hot and you should not miss the full Bridgestone Super Bowl 2010 commercials. Watch the Bridgestone teasers here and here. Read more at www.i4u.com

Twitter users are becoming public enemy #1 in Mexico City resulting in possible Twitter ban

Very intriguing story and to me seems metaphoric for how organizations sometimes respond to new communication tools in social networking.

This reaction to ban social networking is similar to how major corporations respond to the new communication tools that change the way employees interact, connect, share information and represent the company. If you don't co... read more

Mexico considers clamping down on Twitter

Mexicans are using Twitter to avoid drunk-driving checkpoints. Drug cartels might be using it too. Does that justify restricting social networking sites?

Now, if the government gets its way, another name will also make the wanted list: los Twitteros.

That’s right. Twitter users are fast becoming public enemy No. 1, at least in Mexico City, where they have angered authorities by warning one another of roadside “alcoholimetro” — or Breathalyzer — checkpoints set up by the police.

The Twitter feed in question, Anti Alcoholimetro, doesn’t hide its intent. On any given night, a dozen people write in listing the time and location where they saw a police checkpoint, helping others to avoid it.
federal lawmakers are quickly working on specific legislation to track down and punish Twitteros who break the law or help others escape it.
